The Logic Behind 'Year Round' Christmas Lights
For all you people who've been labeled 'crazy' by your neighbors for apparently having what they are very generically calling "Christmas Lights" up year round...we advise you to share this piece of information with them.
THERE IS LOGIC TO THE MADNESS
Now that we've got your attention, consider these colors.
ORANGE
Guess what? Chances are it's October correct? Seeing Pumpkins? They share a universal color correct? Do we need to bust out the 1 + 1 flash cards?
PINK
This is also an October color. The reason? October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It's cool if you don't realize this, either because you don't go to the city (Chicago is covered in them as you can see) or you just don't have anyone in your immediate circle affect by the disease...it's all good. Some people are known to put these up in February for some crazy thing called "I <3 Chocolate Day" or something...
GREEN
Most notably associated with Christmas, earth activists in recent years have been putting up Green Christmas Lights in celebration of 'Earth Day' (and a little ironic when you think about it) nevertheless, it's there, and a "reason" for the season. St. Patty has thing for these too.
RED, WHITE, AND BLUE
Wars come and wars go but for the last 200 years, this is a pretty universal color code for anyone living in the democracy. Your most likely to see this color combo in late June, early July....for the 4th of July. If they're on the grill too...it might be time for you to sit down and relax...
MULI-COLORED
Thanksgiving. Just kidding. Obviously this is the generic tagging for Christmas, and yes....if you have these up year round...well...come on. It's nice to decorate, and fantastic to go all out...but if your leaving your displays up into late February or worse yet, year-round...
